Tear It Out

AAAggghhh! I have to tear it out. I counted back and found where I missed something. On round 5 there are 24 connections. I only counted 23. I looked closer and there is a missed connection. That causes the count to be off. The solution? Tear it out or do it all over. I am going to tear it out first and see if I can just make the correction and move on. If it becomes too cumbersome, I will just start over. Let me see where it goes. (That's just tatting!)

The bad news, I clipped a picot. That's it. Redo. Won't be that much and I don't want it to look pieced together. I should just wait for the new thread I have coming, but I won't. I have enough of this to do the doily.
The good news is the epidural seems to have worked so far. I got it Tuesday. This is Friday. No pills. No pain. Hope it holds.

  1. What bad news on the doily but great news on the epidural. Let us know if it's a boy or a girl when it's born!!!! Sorry, bad joke day!!

  2. I usually sleep on it a night so that the best solution comes to me. I wonder if you could have cut back and pieced in, but you are going to restart anyways. The first two rows are the same as a snowflake Renulek had on her site a few yrs ago so something can be saved (Nov 4, 2014)

I've had this issue before and have cut back to near the mistake then untatted so I have long tails to work with. Since you don't want to hide tails, best to start again.

    1. Actually, Bernice, I did sleep on it. The photo is the next morning's decision to cut back. But when I was cutting, I snipped a picot that would have to be repaired. That is when I decided to just redo. I was only 6 rounds in, so it won't take forever. I was (and will) climbing out because I like to do it, not so much that I don't want to hide tails. Sometimes figuring where to go to get the next round started can be a challenge and I think that adds to the fun.

  3. I'm sorry you had to tat over again, but sometimes that's just the only way to go. I have spent many hours retro-tatting when I should have just started over. I'd have accomplished a whole lot more!

    1. I could have just torn back, like I show, but then I saw I had cut a picot that I need to join to in the previous round. I figured that taking out that round also, I may as well just redo. That's tatting!

  4. It is miserable and makes me mad to cut a picot (I blamed it on my super sharp scissors, thats best) worse than skipping attaching to a ring or something. I so did that on my monster doily, but you do get better at tieing stuff back in 😏 and now I also feel like a pro on undoing rings too. Just hate to have to learn it all this way. Glad you are feeling better back wise anyway😄
