She is back! For a limited engagement, she has returned. This is, for some reason, one of my favorite little tats. I like making it. It is Jane Eborall's 2017 TIAS pattern. It does not take long and it has a variety of stitches. I have done her in a variety of threads, too. I have used not only several colors, but also several sizes. This one is the latest. The colors are 997 Alabaster and 991 Sahara Shadows. This is in King Tut quilting thread. The Duchess, as I call her, is not as big as the shuttle I used!
As I said a couple of posts earlier, I kept hearing about this thread. Now I find I do like to tat with it. It pulls through a ring very easily. It has little twist coming off the spool. I will probably be doing quite a bit with it in the future.
She was a fun tat, and she looks great in the King Tut thread. I'll have to give it a try when I finally get my split rings down. I think my favorite TIAS was the scissors. Mine actually looked like scissors when they were finished!
ReplyDeleteYou and a few others are a bad influence on me. After discussing King Tut I looked around and see there is a 100 spool set. Did not get it since it is no longer in stock. I did find some sales though. Now I need 4 more colors that are backordered...
DeleteIf you would like, I can do a quick vid on how I do those split rings. Really not hard at all. Joining can be a trick but not once you realize you have to keep the core thread as a core thread.
I was tempted by the 100 spool set when I first saw it! However, since I already have enough thread to open a store, I figured I should resist.
DeleteYes, please! The more videos I watch, the better I get. I do fine with regular split rings or ones that have a picot on the first half. However, when the picot is on the second half I mess up almost every time!
Funny you mention open a store (no, I am not), but just as you posted this, I was taking inventory on my Lizbeth 80. Do you mean making a picot on the second half or making the join to another element?
DeleteLooks like it will be fun to make a poster with these little ladies, showing how each color works up. One other think I like about this thread in varagated is how the color changes sooner so you get to see them all, you know what I mean. 😍
ReplyDeleteYes, I like the 1" color change.
DeleteI've been waiting to see you post about the King Tut thread. So glad you like it and I like your Zebrano Shuttle too.
ReplyDeleteIf you read what I said up above, you may surmise that I have to orders comprised of 95 spools of King Tut on the way. Should arrive Monday. Fell in love with the colors and the feel of the thread. I may have to learn to quilt. Hehe.
