I have two Sterling Shuttles. They will each hold about 12 yards of size 20.
I wound a Starlit shuttle with 24 yards of size 10 and had room for more. It will probably hold 30 yards total.

Would be good to have your name and blog addy on the handy Thread Chart. Sorry you had to be down with pain. Wishing you relief very soon.
ReplyDeleteLizbeth size 20 on Pony bobbin - 8.75 yards or 8 meters.
ReplyDeleteAs for measuring and cutting off the length before winding shuttle - I don't cut. When first shuttle is full, I continue winding on a 'holder' (my spectacle case which is always at hand). I know the length for 1 complete wrap. So total length divided by length of single wrap will give you the number of wraps. Once done, snip and start winding 2nd shuttle. (For the above, I needed 22.5 wraps)
I have a couple of tutorials on my blog but don't know if I should leave more links ... If interested, go to My Tutorials .
Thanks ❤❤❤
