A Round Robin and the Deck About Done

I think I have mentioned that I am in a round robin on Craftree. It is my first attempt at designing anything and I am really finding that design is not an easy process. It takes imagination and vision. I work in technical graphics and use math and dimensions, but I don't have to come up with the original design. This is one of the doilies in the round robin. I am working on the round just before my turn to add something. I am using King Tut thread, color #978,  Rosetta Stone. I think this will look good next to a granite object like a bowl.

You may remember a couple posts ago that I am working on replacing the floor on my deck behind the house. I am almost done. I got all the floor installed and the tails of the boards cut even today. It has been a project. I have just a little trim to do and it is over. The trim is really minor. I will get that when I get a chance. No rush. I don't do heat very well and it is now in the 90's outside. Summer is here.
Here is a shot from my drone of the deck. Pay no attention to the troll on the left.

  1. Yes, designing is much harder than it looks. Perhaps we should all give it a go so we better appreciate the work regular designers do? The deck looks splendid!

    1. You are so correct! Definitely difficult to design. I am learning the hard way. I am amazed that Renulek does such complicated patterns yearly.
Thanks about the deck. A labor of love, I guess.

    1. The round robin is where several people decided to make a doily together, each adding to the previous in turn. This one is on Craftree.
If you look at me on the deck you will see that I am flying a drone. A drone is mostly a flying camera. They are used for aerial photography. Mine also shoots 4K video movies. Very high quality. That is why this deck photo is 7 megabytes.

    1. Teresa tells me that the King Tut is about size 120-140. I like the colors it comes in. I could not choose just a few, so I bought the collection.

  5. Oh, black and white thread, that looks interesting. I agree that designing is difficult. There is also a lot of trial and error involved but in the end I'm sure you will be proud of it.

    1. I am waiting on mine. I heard that they would need a couple more weeks. Sounded like maybe someone got sick. Also said it appeared would not have a re-tat. I hope I get it before Tat Days, hehe,
