Pay attention, will you? That is what I told myself this morning after I made a discovery. I had a small, but significant error. Can you spot it? I am just over 1/2 way around round 10. It's going pretty good, but I got distracted this morning and this is what happened.
I cut back to the previous motif on the round. I cut out or dismembered 5 rings and a lot of the chains. After the last ring was cut, I pulled the core thread out of the chains so I would have something to work with. I sewed those ends in, passed the threads from the shuttles through the last ring and tatted over tails until I was satisfied it would not pull loose. Now continuing with the round. To see the error you will have to look for it, but at a glance, you won't see it. So, see! I'm not perfect.
I think I see it, cause I sorta did that on one of mine I just put two rings in one picot and went on with it. I see you got the point I just didn't mention it, we are not machines and it hook up fine with next row you did great as far as I'm concerned 😁
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, we all make such mistakes and on a bigger piece nobody but you will really know it is there. But it takes a bit of courage to snip the mistakes off and fix them. I hope the rest of the round goes without a hitch :)
ReplyDeleteWell in size 80 thread it's not worth struggling to undo. A good pair of scissors is the only answer!!! Hope progress continues well after this hiccup.
ReplyDeleteWell, for me, it is a question of do I want to fool with it or go on. I could have pulled it loose in about 2 hours. Cutting took 20 minutes. And it is just a hiccup.
DeleteIt's looking great!! :)
ReplyDeleteI've just finished my first motif of that round, and I can see that I will need to pay careful attention!
ReplyDeleteHad to enlarge the picture to see it. So sorry. We've all crossed that bridge many times.
